My Thailand travel updates are long overdue. So here goes. I’ll attempt to remember what all went down in the Kingdom of Thailand.
First, we (my friend Joe and I) flew to Bangkok via Hong Kong. The most exciting part of that day (according to Joe) was that we got to fly on Cathay Pacific Airways. I don’t know exactly what I expected when I got into Thailand. Maybe a rainbow colored stamp in my passport?
We landed in Bangkok and had to go through customs, made our way to our hostel, got lost, turned around, got lost again, turned around again…all this time we were so close to the hostel. When we finally did make it, the hostel left a lot to be desired. We decided to venture out.
This is one thing we saw:

Let's call this man "banana pancake man". He satisfied our needs for this delectible dessert. I don't remember how many of these I ate while in the North. I do remember being very sad to not find them in the South.
Our first day in Bangkok was spent wandering around and enjoying the various street foods. 🙂 And the flip flops. We decided that Thailand Produces AND Uses most of the world’s flip flops.

Flip flops galore! I did buy two pairs of sandals. One of them was a fake pair of Birkenstocks.
I don’t know how far we walked that day but we explored a good deal of the city on foot. I can honestly say that I never need to go back to Bangkok.

See all those colorful cars? Those are all taxis. 🙂 So, not a rainbow colored stamp in the passport, but rainbow colored public transportation.

My favorite part of the Grand Palace was the trees that looked like Legos. 🙂
All in all, if you ever go to Thailand, you can spend little time in Bangkok. It wasn’t the greatest.
