The US National Holiday was celebrated by the Meiguoren with our own ch–ch in the morning, a trip to Haidian ch–ch with quite a few Chinese friends after that, and\u00a0a visit to Lush for lunch\u00a0(western restaurant) where they were serving cheap hamburgers and cheap imported beer.\u00a0 I made sure to take my American flag (which was found in my apartment in the beginning of the year) along with me.\u00a0 Happy 4th of July!<\/p>\n

After a fun and delicious lunch most of us went back to another teacher’s apartment to play games!\u00a0 It’s fun to teach our Chinese friends new American games.\u00a0 We dispersed for a bit around suppertime because most of us had made other plans with different friends.\u00a0 (I had invited two students over for Super Mario and other Wii fun!!)\u00a0 But, one of the other teachers had kept a firework (singular) from the Chinese New Year festival!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 So, we shot of one firework \ud83d\ude42 and then watched National Treasure<\/em> because we couldn’t find Independence Day<\/em>.\u00a0 Below are pictures from the ‘celebration.’ \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/p>\n

\ud83d\ude42 Right next to buildings. We wouldn't have it any other way!<\/p><\/div>\n

I’ve been thinking about the things I will miss while I’m in the states for seven weeks.\u00a0 Things that I will miss: my Chinese friends, studies with friends, amazing Chinese food, biking in heavy traffic, and bargaining.<\/p>\n

But, I’ve also been thinking about things that I’m looking forward to when I get to the states!\u00a0 Here are a few things I’m looking forward to:\u00a0 blue skies, breathing clean air, quiet traffic, walking barefoot in carpet, sleeping in a really comfortable bed, driving, wrshping in a ch–ch, and seeing friends and family!<\/p>\n

I’ll be in Wisconsin on Tuesday night.\u00a0 On the 15th it is off to Wyoming.\u00a0 After that, a bit of camping with the family!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I hope I get a chance to see you while I’m visiting.\u00a0 I won’t have a phone so the best way to reach me is by email!\u00a0<\/p>\n
