{"id":1022,"date":"2011-03-05T14:25:40","date_gmt":"2011-03-05T06:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/?p=1022"},"modified":"2011-03-05T23:58:42","modified_gmt":"2011-03-05T15:58:42","slug":"attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/?p=1022","title":{"rendered":"Attack!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Days 17 &#8211; 21 &#8211; &#8220;I love Hong Kong!&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The last entry of my trip will cover five days and be relatively short.\u00a0 I should probably get back to updating in &#8216;real time&#8217; and stop living in the past! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>For the next few days I was with the FOC teachers from all over China.\u00a0 We met in Hong Kong for a retreat (which we later named &#8216;Attack&#8217; because retreat sounds too wimpy&#8211;after all, they keep telling us we are on the &#8216;front line&#8217; in China) and had an amazing time.\u00a0 It was fun to hang out with all the other teachers from the other cities and get to know them.\u00a0 It was during the retreat that we were energized in THE WORD.\u00a0 We had a number of speakers (professors from ALS and others) talk to us about Fellowship, personal B study time, other pertinent information.\u00a0 It was interesting to hear about the other cities and how they do things and be able to share what we do in our city.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We had some down time in the city also.\u00a0 I met up with my German friend for dinner one night and met some of his friends.\u00a0 I took a bus up to the peak to see this view:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1023\" style=\"width: 727px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0785.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1023\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1023 \" title=\"IMG_0785\" src=\"http:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0785-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"717\" height=\"538\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0785-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/amber.schlomer.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0785-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1023\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The ride up to the peak was interesting (which means scary) but the view was incredible! I was hoping to see the sky on a clear night. It was still pretty!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The same evening that I met Tom for dinner I also watched the light show from the &#8216;mainland&#8217; side of Hong Kong. I was actually a little disappointed. \ud83d\ude41 Oh, well...<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Most of the time was spent attending the sessions and hanging out with people.\u00a0 One day I took the ferry across the harbor.
